2025-26 Women's Bowling All-Conference Honors Released
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced its women's bowling awards ahead of the WHAC Championships on Saturday, Feb. 21, at Royal Scot in Lansing, Mich. Winners will be honored during Saturday's event.
Bowler of the Year & Newcomer of the Year - Veronica Flanagan, Lourdes
Flanagan, a freshman from Vandergrift, Pa., stormed onto the scene and earned both Bowler of the Year and Newcomer of the Year honors for her efforts. Flanagan finished in the top 10 in all four WHAC regular season events, highlighted by a second place finish at the Jackson Open. In 12 games, she collected 2,421 pins, good for a 201.75 average. Flanagan becomes the first Lourdes bowler to win both of these honors and is just the second WHAC women's bowler all-time to win both in the same season.
Coach of the Year - Doug Cutler, Indiana Tech
For the third time in the last for years, Cutler has been selected by his peers as the women's bowling Coach of the Year. Cutler led the Warriors to a perfect season, winning all four WHAC regular season events to claim regular season honors and the top seed in the WHAC conference tournament. Cuter is in his sixth season at Indiana Tech.
Champion of Character Coach - Anthony Dann, Cleary
WHAC Coaches have selected Cleary's Anthony Dann as the women's bowling Champion of Character Coach. This is his first time claiming the honor. This award goes to the coach who best represents the NAIA's Core Values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership.
First and Second Team All-Conference honors were awarded based on season averages in the four WHAC events. Bowlers must have bowled in 75% of conference games to be eligible.
In addition to All-Conference, the WHAC also named its All-Academic Team, comprised of sophomores and above with a cumulative 3.25 GPA. Nominees must have been in attendance at the nominating school for one full year. The Champions of Character Team consists of one student-athlete from each school who best represents the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, servant leadership, and sportsmanship.
