Men's Lacrosse Honors Announced
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) released its conference awards for its newest sport, men's lacrosse. The league is the first in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) to sponsor the sport at the conference level. Coaches voted Michigan-Dearborn head coach Jason Watts as Coach of the Year and Coach of Character. Senior attacker Jordan Richstmeier of Davenport earned Offensive Player of the Year honors while Siena Heights' goal keeper Ryan Mailloux garnered Defensive Player of the Year accolades. Junior Justin Famiglietti of Indiana Tech was named the league's Newcomer of the Year.
In addition to All-Conference awards, juniors and above in academic standing with a cumulative 3.25 GPA were named All-Academic. The Champions of Character Team includes one member from each school who best exemplifies the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
