2025 Women's Volleyball Honors Released

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has released its season honors for the 2025 women's volleyball season. Awards are voted on by each team's head coach following the conclusion of the regular season. 

Player of the Year  - Lauren Chioini, Sr., MH, Aquinas

Senior middle hitter Lauren Chioini did it all for the Aquinas Saints in 2025. The Bloomfield Hills, Mich. native finished the season with 3.41 kills per set and a .351 hitting percentage (.400 in WHAC play) and 402 total kills heading into the conference tournament. She was also dominate at the net with 112 total blocks, good for 0.95 per set. Her efforts helped Aquinas to its second-straight regular season championship with an undefeated conference record. 

Libero of the Year - Bella Hommes, Gr., Aquinas

For the second consecutive season, Aquinas' Bella Hommes has been voted the conference Libero of the Year. The graduate student finished the regular season with 63 service aces (0.54 per set), 585 digs (5.00 per set) and a .956 receiving percentage. Hommes is the first player to repeat as WHAC Libero of the Year since Michi Jimenez did so for Lourdes in 2014-15. 

Setter of the Year - Karlee Stoll, Sr., S, Madonna

A stellar senior season netted Karlee Stoll WHAC Setter of the Year honors, the first Madonna player to earn the honor since 2013. Stoll finished the regular season atop the conference in assists per set (10.26) and total assists (872) and was ranked first among conference setters in total kills with 90. The Chesterfield, Mich. native helped the Crusaders to a 12-8 conference record and the fifth seed in the tournament. Stoll is the first Madonna Crusader since 2013 to win Setter of the Year honors. 

Newcomer of the Year - Natalie West, Fr., S, Aquinas

Freshman Natalie West keeps the Newcomer of the Year award on the Aquinas campus for the third-consecutive season. West led Aquinas to a 20-0 conference record as a true freshman running a 5-1 offense. She averaged 10.7 assists per set in conference action and also tallied 209 digs and 77 total blocks.  

Coach of the Year - Juliana Nash, Rochester Christian

Head coaches in the conference selected Rochester Christian Head Coach, Juliana Nash, as the Coach of the Year. Nash, in her third season with the Warriors, led the team to its first-ever WHAC postseason berth with a 13-7 conference record, good for the number four seed and a home match. RCU was picked last in the preseason poll after going winless in conference play in 2024. The turnaround represents the program's best record since joining the WHAC in 2017.

Champion of Character Coach - Corey Ness, Siena Heights

Siena Heights Head Coach Corey Ness was selected by her peers as the WHAC Champions of Character Coach for her commitment to the NAIA's Five Core Values. Ness wins this award for the first time in her first season as a head coach.

In addition to the individual honors, the WHAC named its All-Conference Teams including an All-Newcomer Team, an All-Academic Team for sophomore and above in academic standing with cumulative 3.25 GPA and in attendance at nomination institution for one full year, and Champions of Character Team consisting of one member from each team who best represents the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
