Buza, West and Warwick Named Players of the Week

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Women's Volleyball Player of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, WHAC SIDs have chosen Madonna's Kira Buza as the Attacker of the Week, Aquinas' Natalie West as the Setter of the Week and Cornerstone's Gianna Warwick as the Defender of the Week. 

Buza helped the Crusaders to a 2-1 week, tallying 53 kills (4.82 per set) and a .302 hitting percentage. The outside hitter also had two blocks, a pair of aces and 28 digs to earn her third Attacker of the Week honor.

West tallied 62 assists in two matches for an average of 10.33 per set. The freshman also added four kills, three aces and 10 blocks to earn her sixth Setter of the Week honor. 

Warwick posted 49 digs in a pair of wins last weekend. The freshman averaged 8.17 digs per set to earn her second-consecutive Defender of the Week honor.
