2024 Women's Volleyball Honors Released

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has released its season honors for the 2024 women's volleyball season. Awards are voted on by each teams head coach following the conclusion of the regular season. 

Player of the Year & Newcomer of the Year - Mallory Keller, Gr., OH, Aquinas

 A graduate student transfer from Indiana State University, Mallory Keller stormed onto the scene for Aquinas this season. The native of Jenison, Mich. led the WHAC in kills (234), kills per set (4.59), points per set (5.2) and is currently second in the nation in kills per set. She helped lead Aquinas to an unbeaten WHAC regular season title, its first since 2018, and a trip to the NAIA National Championship Opening round. Additionally, Keller was a seven-time WHAC Attacker of the Week award recipient.

Libero of the Year - Bella Hommes, Gr., Aquinas

A fellow graduate student for the Saints, Hommes helped Aquinas to a 36-1 regular season record and one of its best defensive seasons ever for the program. Hommes, a native of Grand Rapids, Mich., was top-five in the WHAC in digs per set (4.84), total digs (276), service aces per set (0.65), and total service aces (37). 

Setter of the Year - Lydia Harper, Sr., Aquinas

After earning WHAC Newcomer of the Year honors as season ago, Harper adds Setter of the Year to her list of achievements in 2024. Harper led the WHAC in assists per set (10.47), and was top five in assists (597), and hitting percentage (.369). Her efforts helped power the Saint's stellar offensive efforts this season. 

Coach of the Year - Ryan Campbell, Aquinas

Head Coach Ryan Campbell has led the Saints to an impressive 2024 campaign and was voted by his peers as the Coach of the Year. The award is his first as head coach at Aquinas and second as a head coach in the conference. Coach Campbell has led the Saints to a 36-1 record during the regular season and has them ranked No. 11 in the NAIA, the top rank in program history. 

Champion of Character Coach - Danielle Cook, Concordia-Ann Arbor

Concordia Head Coach Danielle Cook was selected by her peers as the WHAC Champions of Character Coach for her commitment to the NAIA's Five Core Values. Cook wins the award for the fifth time in her Concordia career. 

In addition to the individual honors, the WHAC named its All-Conference Teams including an All-Newcomer Team, an All-Academic Team for sophomore and above in academic standing with cumulative 3.25 GPA and in attendance at nomination institution for one full year, and Champions of Character Team consisting of one member from each team who best represents the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
