WHAC Women's Volleyball Players of the Week 8-19

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its first Women's Volleyball Player of the Week Awards, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, WHAC SIDs have chosen Indiana Tech's Noelle VanOort as the Attacker of the Week, UNOH's Savanna Reed as the Setter of the Week and Defiance's Jaelyn Tomoletz as the Defender of the Week.

VanOort picked up right where she left off, leading the Warriors in kills in a four-match opening weekend tournament. The senior posted a weekend-high 19 kills against Valley City State and totaled 56, averaging 3.73 per set. She added six service aces and 54 digs. UNOH's Savanna Reed helped the Racers to a 3-1 opening weekend record. The junior setter had 85 assists (7.08 per set) along with four service aces and 28 digs. Tomoletz earns Defiance's first ever WHAC Player of the Week award by helping the Yellow Jackets to a 3-1 opening weekend. The junior was a force at the net, tallying 16 total blocks (eight solo) including matching a career-high five solo blocks in the season opener.
