2024 Women's Volleyball Preseason Coaches Poll Released

Head women's volleyball coaches in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) have voted Aquinas as the preseason favorite for the upcoming 2024 season. The Saints narrowly edged defending WHAC regular season and tournament champion, Indiana Tech, for the top spot in the poll with 139 points and seven first place votes. Indiana Tech was close behind with 137 total points and the remaining five first place votes. Siena Heights checks in at third with 116 total points

Aquinas finished second in the 2023 regular season standings with a 16-4 conference mark. They also advanced to the WHAC tournament championship final where they fell to Indiana Tech. Aquinas joined Indiana Tech as the two WHAC teams that went on to compete in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round. The Saints return its core from a season ago, including WHAC Newcomer of the Year Lydia Harper, and bolsters the roster with a number of newcomers and transfers who look to make an immediate impact.

Checking in at second in the poll is defending WHAC regular season and tournament champion, Indiana Tech. The Warriors were 18-2 in WHAC play a season ago and 31-5 overall which included a trip to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round. The tournament title was the first for Tech since 2011 and fourth all-time. Indiana Tech Returns WHAC Player of the Year Noelle VanOort along with a host of other talented returners and newcomer to make its run for the 2024 campaign.

Siena Heights, which finished third in the regular season (15-5) in 2024, received the third-most points in the poll with 116. The Saints return three All-WHAC honorees including first-teamer, Olivia Norman for the 2024 campaign. SHU was 15-5 in WHAC play and 24-8 overall in 2023.

Poll Methodology: Each WHAC head coach ranks teams 1-12 depending on their predicted finish for the 2024 season. First place votes are worth 12 points, second are worth 11 and so on. 

The 2024 season officially gets underway on August 15. WHAC play begins on September 4th.
