Thomas, Ricketts and Bates win WHAC Player of the Week Honors

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its second Women's Volleyball Player of the Week Awards, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, the WHAC SIDs have chosen UNOH outside hitter Logan Thomas as the Attacker of the Week, UNOH defensive specialist Aubree Ricketts as the Defensive Player of the Week and Siena Heights setter Aubrey Bates as the Setter of the Week. 

Thomas helped the Racers to a four-win week, two of which came in straight-sets. She tallied 54 kills, averaging 3.86 per set with a weekly high of 19 in a 3-2 victory over Tennessee Southern. She added eight aces, 33 digs, three blocks and four assists in the big week.

On the defensive side, teammate Aubree Ricketts had an equally impressive week. She totaled 71 digs (4.73/set) to go along with 17 assist and four service aces.

Siena Heights setter Aubrey Bates helped her team to a five-win week with three of them coming in straight-sets. Bates played in all five matches, totaling 132 assists (8.25/set) and also added 16 kills, 28 digs and five service aces.
