Aquinas and Cornerstone Secure Weekly Women's Outdoor Track & Field Honors
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its latest Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions and selected via a vote by the conference's sports information directors.
This week's accolades highlight a standout middle-distance victory for Aquinas and a top-tier national qualifying performance in the pole vault from Cornerstone.
Track Athlete of the Week
Lauren Wooer, Aquinas
(Sr. - Kingsley, Mich.)
Senior Lauren Wooer paced the field at the GVSU Early Meet on April 3, delivering a commanding performance in the 800-meter run. Competing against 28 other athletes, Wooer crossed the finish line in 2:11.90 to take first place. Her time secured an NAIA "B" Standard qualification, solidifying her status as a top contender in the middle-distance events as the outdoor season gains momentum.
Field Athlete of the Week
