IT's Taylor, CU's Meacham Earn first Weekly Indoor Honors

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, WHAC SIDs have chosen Indiana Tech's Tamia Taylor as the Track Athlete of the Week and Cornerstone's Claire Meacham as the Field Athlete of the Week.

Taylor won the 400m at the Notre Dame Blue & Gold Invite with an A-standard time of 56.19. This mark is the fastest NAIA 400 so far this season. She also was part of the women's 4x400 team that hit an NAIA B-standard mark.

Meacham got her senior indoor season off to a great start at the GVSU Holiday Open. She hit an A-standard and personal best mark of 17.84 in the Weight throw to set a new school record.
