Farrell and Dean Earn Weekly WLAX Honors

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its latest Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions and selected via a vote by the conference's sports information directors.

This week's accolades celebrate an elite scoring display against national top-five competition and a shutdown defensive performance that anchored two blowout victories.

Offensive Player of the Week

Michelle Farrell, Indiana Tech (Jr., M - Auckland, New Zealand) Michelle Farrell earns Offensive Player of the Week honors after an incredible individual performance against some of the best teams in the country. Helping the Warriors split a pair of road games against top-five opponents, Farrell exploded for 11 goals and an assist over the two-game stretch. Her week was highlighted by a massive 8-goal performance against #5 Keiser. Farrell was remarkably efficient, putting 16 of her 18 shots on goal (88.9% SOG) while also contributing 5 ground balls and 4 draw controls.

Defensive Player of the Week

Olivia Dean, Marian (Ind.) (So., D - Fishers, Ind.) Sophomore Olivia Dean secured Defensive Player of the Week honors after serving as the anchor for a Marian defense that allowed only seven goals combined across two matches. Dean was a disruptive force in the defensive third, racking up 7 caused turnovers and vacuuming up 10 ground balls in dominant conference wins over Bethel and Madonna. Her ability to reset possession helped the Knights maintain total control throughout the week.
