Walendzak and Reel Named WLAX Players of the Week

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, WHAC SIDs have chosen Lawrence Tech's Alyson Walendzak as the offensive player of the week and Bethel's Maddie Reel as the defensive player of the week. 

Walendzak earns the honor for the second consecutive week. The sophomore scored six goals and added two assists for eight points over two games. She also had four ground balls, five draw controls and four caused turnovers in the 1-1 week for the Blue Devils. 

Reel showcased an impressive 10 saves in the Pilots' 5-2 WHAC-opening win over Madonna. The senior saved 83.3 percent of shots.
