Walendzak and Johnson Earns WLAX Weekly Honors

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, WHAC SIDs have chosen Lawrence Tech's Alyson Walendzak as the offensive player of the week and Madonna's LeeAnn Johnson as the defensive player of the week.

Walendzak scored 13 goals and added five assists for an 18-point week last week. The sophomore scored eight in the win over Kalamazoo to headline the week and help LTU to a 2-1 record. She also caused three turnovers and picked up four ground balls.
