2026 Women's Golf Honors Released

YORKTOWN, Ind. - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) released the 2026 Women's Golf Honors in conjunction with the championship tournament. University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) won the tournament to claim the conference championship. 

Golfer of the Year honors went to Lawrence Tech's Tanawan Vetchayanvivat for the second consecutive season. The native of Thailand shot 227 to finish second after three rounds of the WHAC Fall Preview. She followed that up with a 232 at the spring championship to finish at 459 total strokes between the two events, the best combined mark in the conference. She is the third golfer in conference history to win back-to-back Golfer of the Year honors. 

Newcomer of the Year honors went to UNOH's Molly Douglas. A freshman from England, Douglas was the tournament medalist, winning the spring championship and finished eighth in the Fall Preview.  

UNOH's Phil Gunder was selected by his peers as the Coach of the Year. Gunder, in his first season at the helm of the Racer Women's Golf program, led the Racers to a tournament title and a berth in the upcoming NAIA National Championship at Eagle Crest in Ypsilanti, Mich. 

Siena Heights Coach Ben Ellis was selected by coaches as the Champion of Character Coach for his commitment to the NAIA Five Core Values. 

All-Conference (first and second team) honors were selected by the lowest scores from the WHAC Preview Stroke play tournament plus the Spring Conference Championship. 

In addition to All-Conference, the league awarded All-Academic to sophomores or above in academic standing with a cumulative 3.25 GPA and in attendance at nominating school for one full year. The Champions of Character Team included on golfer from each school who was nominated by their head coach for best representing the NAIA core values.
