UNOH sweeps WBB weekly awards

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Women's Basketball Player of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, WHAC SIDs have chosen UNOH's Alysia Lawson as the Offensive Player of the Week and teammate Sanaiiya Gray the Defensive Player of the Week

Lawson eclipsed the 2,000 career point mark last weekend while scoring 29 in a win over Midway. She followed that up with 31 points in a win over Defiance in conference action. Lawson shot 50% from the field on the week and also added eight assists, five steals and a blocked shot. This is the third offensive player of the week award this year for Lawson.

Gray averaged 15.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game last week. Her 21 points against Midway was a career high. Defensively she pulled down 19 rebounds (17 defensive) and blocked six shots with one steal in the two contests. This is the second defensive player of the week award for Gray.
