2025-26 Women's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll Released

Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) women's basketball coaches have voted defending regular-season champion, Indiana Tech, as the preseason favorite for the quickly approaching 2025-26 season.

Indiana Tech claimed its fourth-straight WHAC regular season title a season ago with a 19-1 conference record and 27-6 mark overall. The Warriors were one of two conference teams to qualify for the NAIA National Championship tournament and advanced to the final site and round of 16 before concluding an impressive season. Eight of 12 first place votes were awarded to Indiana Tech who compiled 138 points in the preseason poll. They are led by Head Coach Jessie Biggs in her 14th season with Indiana Tech which has won seven of the last eight WHAC regular season titles.

Aquinas checks in at the number two spot in the preseason poll, earning three first place votes and 128 total points. The Saints are led by Brian Morris in his sixth season in Grand Rapids. Aquinas finished second in the conference with a 17-3 conference mark and 20-9 record overall. The Saints won 12 of 14 regular season WHAC games from January through February a season ago.

In third place, with 117 points and earning the 12th and final first place vote, is Lourdes. The Gray Wolves put together a historic run to conclude the season, winning the program's first-ever WHAC tournament title as #7 seed. As a result of their tournament championship, Lourdes also qualified for its first-ever appearance in the NAIA National Championship tournament. Tandy Bradford leads the Gray Wolves, entering her fifth season at the helm and looks to build on last season's 12-8 WHAC record and 22-11 mark overall. 

Cornerstone and Rochester Christian round out the top five. The Golden Eagles finished the season in the WHAC tournament championship game with a 14-6 record in WHAC play and 17-14 overall. Rochester Christian was 9-11 last season and 10-19 overall.

The season begins on Oct. 23 with conference play set to begin on November 19.

Poll Methodology: Each WHAC head coach ranks teams 1-12 depending on their predicted finish for the 2025-26 season. First place votes are worth 12 points, second are worth 11 and so on.
