Lawson and Gregwer Repeat as WBB Players of the Week
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Women's Basketball Players of the Week, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.
WHAC SIDs have chosen Alysia Lawson (UNOH) as the Offensive Player of the Week and Claire Gregwer (Aquinas) as the Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. Lawson wins her eighth player of the week honor this season which is a new record for the conference. The junior scored 27 points in a win over Madonna and followed it up with 25 points in a win over UM-Dearborn. Lawson shot 47% from the field and 43% from three. The two wins bring UNOH's season total to 18, which matches the program's single-season wins record. Gregwer wins her fourth defensive player of the week award and brings her current double-double streak up to 12 games. The junior has led the team to 10-straight wins and is averaging nearly 20 rebounds per game.
