Rosiewicz and Wooten Named Softball Weekly Award Winners

Softball Player of the Week

Ashley Rosiewicz, Madonna

(Jr., INF - Clinton, Mich.)

Ashley Rosiewicz earns Player of the Week honors after fueling a perfect 4-0 conference week for the Crusaders. The junior was nearly impossible to retire, going 9-for-13 at the plate for a .692 batting average. Rosiewicz displayed massive power, totaling two home runs and four doubles, resulting in an eye-popping 1.462 slugging percentage.

In addition to driving in 11 runs and scoring eight times, she reached base at a .765 clip, drew three walks, and swiped three bases. Defensively, she was flawless across 48 total chances in the infield.

Softball Pitcher of the Week

Lanie Wooten, UNOH

(So., P/UT - Galion, Ohio)

Lanie Wooten takes home Pitcher of the Week honors after a busy and productive stretch for the Racers. Appearing in five games and making three starts, Wooten logged 24.2 innings of work. She pitched three complete games, including a masterful five-hit shutout against Lawrence Tech.

On the week, Wooten went 2-1 with a save, allowing just four earned runs to finish with a 1.14 ERA. She struck out 12 batters and held opponents to a collective 1.14 earned run average, providing a steady presence for the UNOH pitching staff.
