Braun and Boehm Named Softball Weekly Award Winners
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Softball Player of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.
This week, WHAC SIDs have chosen UNOH's Tayler Braun as the player of the week and UM-Dearborn's Maegen Boehm as the pitcher of the week.
Braun recorded a hit in all five games, ending the week with a 7-for-8 effort in a double header against Bluefield. Braun scored three runs, stole six bases and struck out just once in 19 plate appearances.
Boehm had a busy week in the circle, making three total appearances. She earned a complete game win against Spring Arbor, allowing just two runs (one earned) on four hits, striking out one and walking two. In two relief appearances, she totaled 5.2 scoreless innings, allowing just three hits while striking out 10.
