Badarne, Sutton and Silverman Claim MVB Weekly Awards

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Men's Volleyball Player of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, WHAC SIDs have chosen Lourdes' Jaber Badarne as the Attacker of the Week for the second week in a row, Defiance's Adam Sutton and Quinn Silverman were selected as the setter and defender of the week respectively.

Badarne was stellar once again for the Gray Wolves, posting 15 kills in a three-set non-conference win over Indiana East. The senior hit .500 and averaged 5 kills per set while also adding two blocks and an ace.

Sutton carried an 11 assist per set average during a three-match week for the Yellow Jackets. The freshman posted a season-high 62 assists in a five-set win over Midway. His week also included three kills, and six blocks.

Silverman was a force at the net, leading the team with 14 blocks in three matches. The junior averaged 1.17 blocks per set and also added three digs and 12 kills.
