Dorothea and Stovall Named Men's Track Athletes of the Week

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its latest Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions and selected via a vote by the conference's sports information directors.

This week's honors recognize a sensational performance against elite competition in Florida and a record-breaking throw that further cements a national #1 ranking.

Track Athlete of the Week

Netanel Dorothea, Madonna

Netanel Dorothea delivered a world-class performance at the South Florida Invitational (April 10-11), holding his own against a field comprised primarily of NCAA Division I athletes. Dorothea secured a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a blistering time of 46.19 seconds, comfortably hitting the NAIA "A" Standard. He followed that up with a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at 21.19 seconds. His times in Tampa establish him as one of the premier sprinters in the conference as the outdoor season intensifies.

Field Athlete of the Week

Stuart Zachariah Stovall, Cornerstone

(Jr., Fishers, Ind.)

For the third consecutive week, Stuart Zachariah Stovall takes home Field Athlete of the Week honors after yet another historic performance. Competing at the GVSU Al Owens Invite on April 11, Stovall improved upon his own school record in the Hammer Throw with a massive mark of 63.07m. This personal best not only bettered his previous "A" Standard mark but also solidified his position as the No. 1 ranked hammer thrower in the NAIA. Stovall's consistent dominance continues to set the national pace for the Golden Eagles.
