LTU and Cornerstone Earn Weekly Men's Track Award

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its latest Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions and selected via a vote by the conference's sports information directors.

This week's honors feature a breakout middle-distance performance from Lawrence Tech and a national-qualifying throw from Cornerstone.

Track Athlete of the Week

Griffen Ambrusmacher, Lawrence Tech

Senior Griffen Ambrusmacher stood out at the Marian Invite on March 27, capturing a first-place finish in the 800m dash B division. Ambrusmacher's performance was not only enough to top the podium at the meet but has also vaulted him into the national conversation. He currently sits at No. 12 in the country for the event, establishing himself as a premier middle-distance threat in the NAIA this outdoor season.

Field Athlete of the Week

Stuart Zachariah Stovall, Cornerstone

Junior Stuart Zachariah Stovall wasted no time punching his ticket to the postseason during the Marian University competition on March 26. Stovall dominated the Discus throw with a massive mark of 54.5m, securing an NAIA "A" Standard qualification. The first-place finish ensures Stovall will represent the Golden Eagles at the national championships later this spring.
