Madonna's Bastuba, Cornerstone's Stovall Earn Men's Track Weekly Honors
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.
This week, WHAC SIDs have chosen Madonna's Colin Bastuba as the Track Athlete of the Week and Cornerstone's Stuart Stovall as the Field Athlete of the Week.
Bastuba broke the school record in the 600m dash with a time of 1:20.48. He finished fourth in the event at the Wolverine Invitational and hit an NAIA B standard in the process.
Stovall won the weight throw at the Throws and Jumps Festival. The junior bested the 22-competitor field with a throw of 19.80, good for an NAIA A standard.
