Roses and Henrique Earn MSOC Player of the Week Awards
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Men's Soccer Player of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.
This week, WHAC SIDs have chosen Lawrence Tech's Pedro Roses as the Offensive Player of the Week and Madonna's Afonso Henrique as the Defensive Player of the Week
Roses played a big role in LTU's success last week, netting his first-career hat trick in a 3-0 win over Cornerstone. LTU earned a draw in a match with Madonna later in the week to remain a part of a three-way tie at the top of the WHAC standings with a week to play.
Madonna's Henrique earns his second Defensive honor for leading the Crusaders to a pair of results in WHAC play. The junior goalkeeper made 12 saves in a 3-2 win over UNOH, then made eight saves in a scoreless draw with Lawrence Tech. Madonna is one of three teams tied atop of the WHAC table.
