UNOH's Hashimoto, Cleary's Freemire Named MSOC Players of the Week
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Men's Soccer Player of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.
This week, WHAC SIDs have chosen UNOH's Eguzki Hashimoto as the Offensive Player of the Week and Cleary's Austin Freemire as the Defensive Player of the Week
Hashimoto scored the first goal in the Racers' 3-2 win over #24 Spring Arbor and followed that up with a four-goal effort in a WHAC win over UM-Dearborn. He is the first player in UNOH history to score more than three goals in a single game.
Freemire was stellar in a pair of shutout wins for the Cougars. The senior goalkeeper made a season-high nine saves in Cleary's 2-0 win in the WHAC opener against Cornerstone on Saturday. He moves to 4-1 on the season.
