2024 Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll Released

Head Men's Soccer Coaches in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) have voted Aquinas the preseason favorite for the upcoming 2024 season. The defending regular season champion Saints narrowly edged defending tournament champion Indiana Tech for the top spot in the poll. Aquinas earned eight of 13 first place votes and 163 total points while Indiana Tech tallied the remaining five first place votes and 161 points. Madonna was close behind in third with 138 points followed by UNOH with 127. 

Aquinas won its first WHAC regular season title since 2010 a season ago with a regular season finale win over Indiana Tech. The Saints finished the season 14-4-3 overall and 8-1-2 in WHAC play and went on to represent the WHAC in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round. They return WHAC Offensive Player of the Year, Ricardo Rittersberger as they look to repeat in 2024

Indiana Tech won its fifth-straight WHAC tournament title in 2023 in a rematch of the regular season finale with Aquinas. The Warriors also represented the conference in the national tournament with a stellar run, advancing to the quarterfinal round before losing a heartbreaker in penalty kicks. Tech finished the season 14-4-6 overall and 7-1-3 in WHAC action. 

Madonna finished third a season ago and in the 2024 coaches poll with 138 points. The Crusaders were 11-5-4 overall and 6-2-3 in WHAC play in 2023.

Poll Methodology: Each WHAC head coach ranks teams 1-13 depending on their predicted finish for the 2024 season. First place votes are worth 13 points, second are worth 12 and so on. 

The season gets underway on August 17 with WHAC play starting on September 14.
