Doron Drai of Madonna University (Mich.) and Joe Zanni from Siena Heights University (Mich.) grabbed top honors in the 2008 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Men's Soccer Honors. Madonna leader Tino Scicluna was honored as Coach of the Year while Indiana Institute of Technology skipper Martin Neuhof was named the Champions of Character Coach.

Drai, the league's Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year, led the conference with eight assists in 16 games and added a goal. The senior is a three-time First Team All-WHAC performer for the Crusaders at the forward position. Defensive Player of the Year Zanni scored five goals as a defender for Siena Heights and also had an assist while defending the Saints' side of the field. The senior started the season out as a midfielder but was moved to defender after injuries plagued the team.

Under Scicluna 's tutelage, Madonna grabbed a share of the regular-season conference championship, tying Aquinas College (Mich.) for the top spot with a n 11-1 league record, 14-2 overall. This is Scicluna's third WHAC coaching honor. In his 10th season as head coach of Indiana Tech, Neuhof's ability to lead by example and teach the importance of fair play and sportsmanship made him an obvious choice for the WHAC Champions of Character Coach award.
