2025 Men's Lacrosse All-Conference Honors Released

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its 2025 Men's Lacrosse awards. All awards are selected by a vote of conference head coaches. First and Second Teams consist of 13 members each, plus ties. Individual awards include Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Midfielder of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, Coach of the Year, and Champion of Character Coach.

Offensive Player of the Year: Devin Macomber, Indiana Tech

Indiana Tech's Devin Macomber has been an offensive force all season long for the Warriors. The senior attacker leads the WHAC (29) and nation (60) in goals and is also tops in conference points (45) and national points (90). Macomber is also fourth in both the WHAC (16) and nation (30) in assists. Macomber helped the Warriors to a share of their first regular season title since 2022 this season. He is the fourth Offensive Player of the Year all-time for Indiana Tech and the first since 2022.

Defensive Player of the Year: DeMario Williams, Madonna

DeMario Williams put together an elite defensive season for Madonna, helping the Crusaders to share of the WHAC regular season title, their first since 2018. The senior from Aurora, Colo. leads the conference (37) and nation (70) in caused turnovers and broke the NAIA single-season record in this category. He's also 8th in the WHAC in ground balls with 57 and fifth in the nation with 117. Williams is the second Madonna player to earn Defensive Player of the Year honors and the first since 2023.

Midfielder of the Year: Grady Holmes, Lawrence Tech

For the second consecutive season, Lawrence Tech's Grady Holmes has been named the WHAC Midfielder of the Year. Holmes, a senior from Oxford, Ohio, has done it all for the Blue Devils. He's tallied 84 points on the season, 43 in WHAC play, and has scored 17 goals and posted 26 assists in conference action. He's ranked top-15 nationally in: points, assists, goals, shots and shots on goal. Holmes is the only WHAC player to earn this honor twice.

Newcomer of the Year: Henry Cooper, Taylor

In just his freshman season, Taylor's Henry Cooper has made an impact both on his team and the conference at-large. The Mason, Ohio native helped the Trojan to a playoff berth and finished the season with 24 points, 20 goals, four assists and 41 shots on goal in WHAC play. He is the first player in Taylor history to earn WHAC Men's Lacrosse Newcomer of the Year honors.

Coach of the Year: Bryan Seaman, Indiana Tech

No stranger to the award, Indiana Tech's Bryan Seaman was selected by his peers as the WHAC Coach of the Year. This marks the fourth time he's won the honor and first since 2022. Seaman led Indiana Tech to a 6-1 conference record and a share of the regular season title. They also claimed the top-seed in the WHAC tournament. The Warriors have been ranked nationally all season and currently sit at #5 in the final poll.

Champion of Character Coach: Jason Watts, UM-Dearborn

Jason Watts was voted WHAC Champion of Character Coach. Watts wins the award for the third consecutive season. He is recognized for exemplifying the NAIA's five core values: integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

In addition to the All-Conference awards, the WHAC also announced its All-Academic and Champions of Character teams. The All-Academic Team consists of sophomores or above with a cumulative 3.25 GPA who have been at their school for one full year. The Champions of Character Team comprises one player from each school who best represents the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
