UNOH Sweeps Weekly WHAC Baseball Honors

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its latest Baseball Player of the Week awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions and selected via a vote by the conference's sports information directors.

This week's accolades mark a return to dominance for the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH), as the Racers swept both honors following a clinical performance on the road.

Baseball Player of the Week

Cesar Grau, UNOH

(Jr., C - Los Teques, Venezuela)

Cesar Grau earns Player of the Week honors after a massive offensive display in a two-game set against Lourdes. Grau was nearly impossible to retire, going 5-for-8 (.625) at the plate and driving in 7 RBIs. His power was on full display in the series opener, where he went yard twice to finish the week with a staggering 1.375 slugging percentage.

Grau currently carries an 11-game hitting streak, featuring multiple hits in eight of those contests. Beyond his offensive output, he was stellar behind the dish, recording 22 putouts and an assist on 23 total chances.

Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Zach Cabell, UNOH

(Sr., RHP - North Ridgeville, Ohio)

Senior right-hander Zach Cabell takes home Pitcher of the Week honors after delivering one of the most dominant outings in Racers history. Cabell tossed his third complete-game shutout of the season, a 7.0-inning masterpiece against Lourdes.

Cabell dismantled the Gray Wolves' lineup, racking up 14 strikeouts—the most by a UNOH pitcher in five years and the second-highest total ever recorded in a seven-inning game for the program. He surrendered only three hits and one walk, finishing the week with a minuscule 0.57 WHIP and an 18.00 K/9 average. This is Cabell's third Pitcher of the Week selection of the season.
