Grigalis and Healy Repeat as Baseball Players of the Week

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its latest Baseball Player of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions and selected via a vote by the conference's sports information directors.

For the second consecutive week, the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) has swept the honors, with Zach Grigalis repeating as Player of the Week and Daniel Healy repeating as Pitcher of the Week.

Baseball Player of the Week

Zach Grigalis, UNOH

(So., IF - Lexington, Ky.)

Zach Grigalis continued his absolute tear through the month of March, spearheading a 3-1 week for the Racers. Grigalis posted three consecutive multi-hit games, including a perfect 4-for-4 performance with three runs scored against Siena Heights. On the week, he went 11-for-15 at the plate, slashing an incredible .733/.706/.933.

With this performance, Grigalis raised his season batting average to .522, moving him to the top spot in the WHAC and ranking him third in the nation (NAIA). He tallied six RBIs and a home run over the four-game stretch while maintaining a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage on 53 total chances.

Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Daniel Healy, UNOH

(So., RHP - Taylorsville, Utah)

The reigning WHAC Pitcher of the Year was masterful on the mound once again, recording his second consecutive seven-inning complete-game shutout. Facing #19 Indiana Tech, Healy surrendered hits to the first two batters he faced before retiring nearly everyone else in his path.

Healy allowed just three hits and one walk while striking out four in the 1-0 victory. Over his last two starts (14.0 innings), Healy is 2-0 with 11 strikeouts and has allowed only eight total base runners, cementing his status as one of the premier arms in the conference.
