Stepek and Davis Named Baseball Players of the Week
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Baseball Player of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.
This week, WHAC SIDs have chosen Madonna's Ty Stepek as the player of the week and UNOH's Jordan Davis as the pitcher player of the week.
Stepek had a huge week at the plate, helping Madonna to a four-game sweep of IU-South Bend. He finished 9-for-16 with two doubles, a triple, a home run, four RBI, seven runs scored and three stolen bases. He slashed .563/.632/1.000
Davis entered the game against Georgetown with two outs in the seventh inning, with the Racers trailing 8-6. He proceeded to retire all 16 batters he faced, in order, striking out seven with no walks. His efforts allowed UNOH to rally and in 11-8 in 12 innings.
