Madonna's Stepek, IT's Besser Named Baseball Players of the Week
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Baseball Players of the Week Award, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.
This week, the WHAC SIDs have chosen Tyler Stepek (Madonna) as the Player of the Week and Grant Besser (Indiana Tech) as the Pitcher of the Week. Stepek hit for the cycle, and finished the week with a .500/.563/1.000 slash line. He had two doubles a triple, a home run, four RBIs and four runs scored. Besser had a great outing in a showdown at the top of the WHAC standings. The senior lefthander went the distance in a 4-2 win over UNOH. He struck out eight, walked just two and allowed just two runs in the victory.
