Concordia's Simon, Cleary's Roberts Named Baseball Players of the Week
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Baseball Players of the Week Award, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.
This week, the WHAC SIDs have chosen Gus Simon (Concordia) as the Player of the Week and Will Roberts (Cleary) as the Pitcher of the Week. Simon led the Cardinals in nearly every batting statistic during their 2-1 series win over IU Columbus. Simon slugged 1.500, batted .500 and drove in four runs. He also scored four times, hit two homers and had two doubles. Cleary earned the win against Cincinnati Clermont, tossing six innings allowing just two runs on three hits while striking out 10.
