Stepek and Mauney win first Basball Weekly honors

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Baseball Players of the Week Award, presented by PCC Sports, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, the WHAC SIDs have chosen Tyler Stepek (Madonna) as the Offensive Player of the Week and Josh Mauney (UNOH) as the Pitcher of the Week. Stepek helped Madonna to a 3-1 start to the season. He slashed .615/.688/1.154 over four games adding two doubles, a triple and a home run. He drove in four runs and scored four while stealing three bases. Mauney worked 3.1 scoreless innings in relief to earn a win in a game against Cumberland (TN). The junior righty allowed just two hits and struck out four.
