Teets and Tome Named Hockey Players of the Week

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its Men's Hockey Player of the Week Awards, presented by Tarkett Sports Construction, earlier today. Student-athletes are nominated by their host institutions' sports information department and selected via a vote by conference SID's.

This week, SID's have chosen UM-Dearborn's Ryan Teets as the Offensive Player of the Week and Lawrence Tech's Brett Tome as the Defensive Player of the Week.

Teets had four goals and two assists this weekend, including a hat trick on Friday night. The junior forward finished with six-points as the Wolverines swept Rochester Christian in WHAC play. Brett Tome earns defensive honors for a stellar weekend in goal. The senior made 29 saves on Friday in a 4-1 win over Indiana Tech, then followed it up with a 34-save effort in a 2-1 loss on Saturday. He saved .955% of shots. 

UM-Dearborn's Miller came up big in a shootout win over Indiana Tech on Saturday in Dearborn. The freshman stopped 29 shots in the win and denied Indiana Tech's final attempt in the shootout to give the Wolverines the extra point.
