Indiana Tech Claims 2025-26 Fred Smith All-Sports Cup
HOWELL, Mich. - For the ninth consecutive year, Indiana Tech has claimed the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference's (WHAC) Fred Smith All-Sports Cup as announced at the WHAC spring meetings, hosted by Cleary University. Indiana Tech earned 189.5 total points to earn its ninth-straight trophy thanks to another stellar season of competition. The Warriors won eight total regular season titles and a pair of tournament titles to push them past second placed Madonna. The Crusaders finished in second in the closest margin since 2018-19. Madonna won four regular season titles and five tournament titles to help it tally 171.5 total points.
This marks the second year of the new format which takes into account the seven highest finishes each from men's and women's sports. Each institution must count any sport in which all 12 WHAC member schools participate in their seven sports per gender. A complete breakdown of the new point totals and scoring system can be found here. The new scoring system awards a varied number of points depending on total full-WHAC member participation numbers. It also awards five points to tournament winners where applicable.
The ninth-straight cup for the Warriors, extends its record winnning streak over Aquinas' previous record of seven-straight cup wins from 1997-98 through 2003-04. Indiana Tech holds the second most trophies in the WHAC with nine overall, trailing Aquinas' eleven total.
Aquinas (133), Cornerstone (122.5) and Lawrence Tech (117.5) round out the top five.
