CLEVELAND - (FULL RELEASE) Indiana Institute of Technology (Indiana Tech) becomes just the ninth different institution to take home the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup, capturing first for the 2022-23 year with 867.50 overall points. The Warriors have finished in the top-five each of the last two seasons, finishing fourth overall in the 2021-22 final standings and placing second overall in 2020-21.
Overall, Indiana Tech scored in 11 total sports, including all 4 sports that must be counted towards the final standings (women's basketball, men's basketball, men's soccer, and women's volleyball). Two sports were omitted in the final standings ? men's volleyball and softball ? due to Indiana Tech scoring in more (11) than the maximum number of countable sports allowed (9). The Warriors took home the women's indoor track and field title.
Including Indiana Tech, a total of four WHAC institutions placed in the top 50 of the Learfield Director's Cup with Madonna checking in at 32nd followed by Cornerstone (43rd) and Aquinas (46th).
The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA/NAIA Championships.
