2006 WHAC Volleyball Championship Tournament
The 2006 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship Tournament will be held November 7th (Quarterfinals) and November 10-11 (Final Four). A quarterfinal games will be held on campus sites of the higher seeded team in each contest. The WHAC Volleyball Final Four will be held at regular season champion Madonna University.
Tournament Bracket Quarterfinals - Tuesday November 7th G1: #3 Indiana Tech def. #6 Aquinas, 3-1 (30-27, 21-30, 30-22, 30-21) G2: #4 UM-Dearborn def. #5 Siena Heights, 3-0 (30-20, 30-22, 30-27) FINAL FOUR - Friday November 10th at Madonna University G3: #2 Cornerstone def. #3 Indiana Tech, 3-1 (30-20, 21-30, 30-16, 30-27) G4: #1 Madonna def. #4 UM-Dearborn, 3-0 (30-17, 30-16, 30-18 CONSOLATION MATCH- Saturday November 11th at Madonna University G5: #3 Indiana Tech def. #4 UM-Dearborn, 3-1 (30-28, 28-30, 30-28, 30-26) CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH- Saturday November 11th at Madonna University
G6: #2 Cornerstone (37-7) at #1 Madonna (35-2), 1:00 pm * There will be a brief awards ceremony following the championship match on Saturday. * Host instituation reserves right to request time changes in event of dual sport championships on same day.
* WHAC regular season and WHAC tournament champions will represent WHAC in NAIA Region VIII tournament. If same team wins both, the tournament runner up will be the WHAC #2 seed in Regional tournament. WHAC tournament champion is #1 seed at Regional Tournament. A third WHAC representative to Region VIII tournament will be winner of WHAC tournament consolation game. * If regular season champion loses in semi-finals, they still retain automatic berth to regionals and thus no consolation game is needed as the WHAC Tournament championship game loser will be the WHAC #3 seed in the Region VIII Tournament.
