Madonna (Mich.) University senior Lubovj Tihomirova was honored as the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 7, 2008.

The 6-foot 2-inch outside hitter averaged 16.5 kills per match and a 43% attack percentage as the tenth-ranked Crusaders recorded a perfect 4-0 week. Tihomirova was named the Julie Martin Memorial Tournament MVP after victories against Davenport (Mich.) University (3-0), Cedarville (Ohio) University (3-1), University of Windsor (3-0) and Spring Arbor (Mich.) University (3-1). She also recorded six service aces and 17 blocks during the four-game tournament. Madonna improved to 12-1 overall.
