Atlanta, Ga. - The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced its winners for the 2007-08 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll Monday. This award, given in NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA and Junior College/Community College, awards teams throughout the nation that carry the highest grade point averages (GPA) for the entire season based on the nominations submitted by WBCA-member head coaches.

For the fifth year in a row, the Davenport women's basketball team has earned a Top-6 finish and even posted the best overall Team GPA in 2005-2006. The 2007-2008 Panthers squad finished in 6th place with an overall Team GPA of 3.578. The top five teams were: Concordia (NE) - 3.667, Westminister - 3.653, Oklahoma Christian - 3.623, Blue Mountain - 3.608 and Mount Marty - 3.603. Leading the way on the academic side were NAIA Scholar Athletes Kristin Bergsma and Sara Haverdink.
