KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2008 Rawlings®-NAIA Baseball Gold Glove Team, as selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association (BCA) All-America Selection Committee. A total of nine players were selected to the best in the fielding category including Siena Heights University senior Mike Sepesy at centerfielder.
Sepesy, from Ida, Michigan, had previously won recognition on the WHAC Gold Glove Team and the NAIA Region VIII Gold Glove Team as well. On the year, Sepesy amassed 109 put-outs, three assists, and only one error. Sepesy was selected as the centerfielder on the NAIA National Gold Glove Team from a group of fourteen NAIA regional finalists. By being selected Sepesy will receive a gold glove from Rawlings which is the same award that Major League Baseball Players receive. Siena Heights will also receive a gold glove for display in their trophy case.
