Siena Heights junior runner Luke Pawlaczyk had quite a weekend meet at Indiana Wesleyan. Pawlaczyk finished the meet with two arena records, a school record and two automatic qualifying times to NAIA Nationals. On top of that, he also ran as part of the relay team that finished first and set an arena record.
The Siena Heights Indoor Track & Field Team broke 12 arena records at the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday. Along with the arena records, the day was quite profitable for the Saints as they earned eight automatic qualifications and 11 provisional qualifications to the NAIA National Indoor Championship Meet.
Luke Pawlaczyk highlighted that incredible day. Pawlaczyk set a new school record, set an arena record, and earned an automatic qualification in his 600 meter run with a time of 1:19.80. He broke the school record of two time All-American Jameel Jones, 1:19.95, set in 2006. Pawlaczyk also earned a second automatic qualification and set another arena record with his 800 meter time of 1:55.86. Finally, Pawlaczyk was part of the arena record setting 4 x 400 meter relay along with Samuel Hogue, Adrian Simmons, and Kent Laskoswky who ran the relay in a time of 3:25.06.
