GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. --Madonna University senior guard Charlie Henry and Davenport University freshman guard Kallie Benike were named WHAC men’s and women’s basketball Player of the Week respectively for December 10-16, 2007.

Henry, a native of Canton, Michigan, helped lead the Crusaders to a pair of wins and the Michigan Educational Credit Union championship over the weekend.  Henry, posted 33 points over the two game stretch, including 21 in the championship win over Albion College to capture tournament MVP honors.  For the week, Henry averaged 16.5 points and 4.5 assists while shooting .550 (11-for-20) from the floor and .615 (8-for-13) from three-point territory.

Benike, a native of Campbellsport, Wisconsin, led the Panthers to a 2-1 record on the week.  Benike reached double figures in all three games, including back-to-back 23-point efforts to close the week.  Over the three games, the freshman averaged 19.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, two assists and 1.7 steals per game while shooting .438 (21-for-48) from the floor.
