Grand Rapids, Mich. - The holidays are a wonderful time for family and friends to come together to enjoy a special meal, exchange gifts and share wonderful memories with one another. However, for many families, financial burdens make the holidays more stressful than wonderful. For this reason, the DU community is sponsoring two United Way Families-in-Need and the men's basketball team has decided to purchase all of the items needed for one family's holiday meal. A donation jar will be passed around during halftime of Wednesday night's game vs. Calumet College (8:00 PM) and all donations will assist with the grocery costs for the meal. The Davenport University students are hoping to brighten the lives of our adopted families this season and appreciate any financial support that you are able to give.
If you have any questions about the event on Wednesday, December 12 at Duncan Lake Middle School, please contact Assistant Men's Basketball Coach Nick Davidson at Nick.Davidson@Davenport.edu. |
