Madonna's Tihomirova Named National Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Lubovj Tihomirova of Madonna (Mich.), has been selected as the NAIA Volleyball National Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 23, 2007.

Tihomirova, a junior outside hitter from Riga, Latvia, helped Madonna (Mich.) to five wins at the Palm Beach Atlantic Tournament last week. She averaged 6.50 kills per game and recorded six solo blocks during the week. Tihomirova was selected to the All-Tournament team and named Tournament MVP.

Tihomirova, a second-team All-American selection last season is currently the national leader in kills with 449 and second in kills per game with a 6.1 average.

Tihomirova was also named Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference and NAIA Region VIII Player of the Week for her efforts.
