Grand Rapids, MI -- Aquinas College senior member of the men’s tennis team Patrick Bruining (Grand Haven, MI/Grand Haven) recently won the NAIA Intercollegiate Tennis Association regional tournament held at Cedarville University (Ohio). As singles champion, Bruining has now qualified for the ITA National Small College Championship to be held in Mobile Alabama in October.
This tournament will bring together NAIA, Division 2, Division 3 and Junior College regional champions from across the country. Bruining is a two-time NAIA All-American, and was ranked as one of the top 50 NAIA players throughout all of his junior year. He is hoping to become the first Aquinas player to earn All-American honors three years in a row.
