Grand Rapids, MI -- With much anticipation, the Aquinas College Athletic Department will host their first soccer game ever on their new synthetic turf field as the men's soccer program takes on St. Xavier on Sept. 11, 2007 at 4 p.m. Following the contest ,the women's soccer team will make their first debut on the new surface on Sept. 12. at 4 p.m. against Hope College.

With the new synthetic turf, Aquinas becomes the first member of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) to have an artificial playing surface for soccer and gives the College the option to add lacrosse to its 18-sport athletic program.

The artificial surface was developed by Pittsburgh-based ProGrass, who also oversaw the installation work.
