Grand Rapids, Mich. - - Aquinas College two-time NAIA All-American Mike Rose was honored as the NAIA National senior Player of the Year this spring at the NAIA National Championship in Mobile, Alabama in May.

Rose is the first person from Aquinas to receive this prestigious award.  The award was presented at the National Championship in Mobile, Ala. in May. 
"I heard someone say 'Aquinas College's Mike Rose' and I didn't believe it for a second," said Rose.  "I had no idea it was going to happen, but it was pretty exciting and quite an honor to be selected since there are so many deserving players out there." 
Rose finished his senior season with a 21-4 record in No. 1 singles play, and a 23-3 record in No. 1 doubles with his partner Patrick Bruining.  Rose and Bruining set a school record for wins and a NAIA Region VIII title to give the team a berth to Nationals for the ninth year in a row.
