Grand Rapids, Mich. -- The weekly softball award winners were announced today with a pair of Madonna Crusaders taking home the hardware.  Liz Ballinger was named league pitcher of the week after posting three wins and teammate Alison Grant earned player of the week after hitting .450 and driving in nine runs.
Ballinger apeared in four games on the week for MU, posting a 3-0 record with 15 strikeouts and just seven earned runs allowed over 21-and-one-third innings of work.
 
The junior from St. Johns, Michigan hurled a pair of complete game victories including a 7-1 league win over Siena Heights. In that game, Ballinger allowed just two hits while striking out six.
 
For the week, Ballinger posted a 5-to-1 strikeout to walk ration and a 2.30 ERA.
 
Alison Grant is the player of the week after hitting .450 for the Crusaders and helping her team to a 6-2 record on the week.
 
The Carleton, Michigan native went 9-for-20 with two doubles a homer and nine runs batted in over a eight game stretch. The sophomore slugged .700 for the week.

Aylssa Fleser, Aquinas: Went 3-3 with a 1.88 ERA and 11 K's over 37.1 IP.

Dani Bailey, Siena Heights: Went 3-1 with a 2.96 ERA and 14 K's over 26 IP.

Jacki Plough, Aquinas:
Hit .440 (11-for-25) with a homer and 6 RBI's in nine games, 4-5 record.
 
Jessica Williams, Indiana Tech: Hit .385 (5-for-13) with two doubles, two homers, 8 RBI in four games, 2-2 record.
 
Jess Barney, Siena Heights: Hit .429 (9-for-21) with two doubles, a triple and homer and 4 RBI's in 10 games, 6-4 record.
