Grand Rapids, Mich. -- Former All-American goal keeper Carl Whitehouse has been chosen as the new head coach of Davenport's men's and women's soccer programs beginning next season. Whitehouse, who played at Aquinas College in 2001 and 2004 and at Davenport from 2005-06 takes over for Wayne Vandemerwe, who was Davenport's head coach for the past two seasons.
Whitehouse, a 2001 NAIA All-American, was an assistant coach at Western Michigan in 2002-03, working mainly with the goal keepers. In 2004, he was named an assistant coach for Davenport's women's team where he served through 2005. He has an English Coaching Badge and a USSF 'D' License.
